TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — This year’s Christmas season is made brighter as the Provincial Government of Cagayan formally launched the “Paskong Cagayano” with the Symphony of Lights as it lit up sparkling, dazzling and colorful lights and demonstrated Christmas music extravaganza and dancing on Thursday night, December 1, at the Capitol grounds.

In his message, Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba emphasized that “The birth of Christ is the completion of a family.”

“Pamilya tayo dito sa Provincial Government, sa bawat pamilya, sa probinsya and a family as a nation. As a family, we should be all part of growing, improving, innovating, sacrificing and planning things like what we have done and plan for our province for the next generation.”

Cagayanos should be part of the province’ development, the governor added, noting that the sacrifices and hard work commenced “was intended for the next generation.”

“As one, we need to realize that each of us has the obligation for the next age group,” the governor stressed.

Governor Mamba with his better half Atty. Mabel Villarica-Mamba, Provincial Administrator Atty. Maria Rosario M. Villaflor, Cagayan Police Provincial Director Col. Julio Gorospe, Board Member Rodrigo De Asis, Board Member Atty. Romeo Garcia, and Board Member Christian Ursua led the ceremonial switching of light.

The highlight of the evening was the Symphony of Lights show, a spectacular exhibition of laser beams bouncing off the capitol edifice that showed the vibrancy and glamorous night view of the Capitol grounds.

The show features various Christmas dazzling light of the Capitol Building followed by the lighting up of government buildings, parks and other public spaces across the province to include the Rizal Park, Provincial Library, Visitors Pavilion, the district Hospitals and Sub-Capitol in Lal-lo has brought traditional Yuletide cheers to the residents.

The night view with lights blaze marvelously and beautifully made it a stunning attraction and the gradient effect shining from the bottom to the top as the color of the building changes has shown creativity and vibrancy.

Lawyer Mabel Villarica-Mamba, the First Lady of the province was the Committee Chair of the “Paskong Cagayano.”

The Philippine Army, Local Government Unit of Tuao along with their students, other local officials, PGC Retirees Association Officers and media men attended the ceremony.

“Let this be a celebration of the family, our own family, community, town, barangays, our country as we are part of the global community. That is the essence of a family to prepare them (children and the future generation) for a better future, make better lives for them, as discipline Filipinos and be heirs of what we could do for them,” Mamba disclosed.

The fireworks flew up to the sky and displayed a marvelous and glittering light that shattered into thousands of sparks to coil, whisk in a spiral and blazing light crackled brought delight to the residents.

This Symphony of Lights will run every day until December 31.

Meanwhile, the Christmas Banchetto opens from December 5 until December 20 at the Leonardo N. Mamba Gym, Sports Complex in this City.

The lighting ceremony was livestreamed via the provincial government’s Facebook page, Cagayan Provincial Information Office.
