TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — The Department of Science and Technology Region 02 (DOST R02) sealed a Tripartite Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to establish a oneSTore Hub with the Local Government Unit of Piat headed by Mayor Leonel De Guzman and Ms. Susan Pagulayan, owner of Susan’s Bakeshop, on August 26.
Mayor De Guzman expressed his gratitude to DOST for the technical assistance it provided for MSMEs, especially on Food Development.
“The technology will improve processing and packaging, as it can improve the shelf life and safety of food,” he said.
“It will as well ensure quality and drive down the cost of keeping food fresh, and increases productivity,” the mayor stressed.
The partnership is a significant boost to DOST R02 and LGU Piat’s mission to serve MSMEs in the municipality and expand their market by allowing them to sell and deliver their products through the online platform and the hub.
OneSTore was introduced in 2015 to help promote the use of the platform in correlation with DOST’s Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) and was designed as an online platform to help local MSMEs grow their business by expanding their market online.
It was later expanded to different components such as the oneSTore Hub to meet local MSMEs’ needs.
