THE pro-Duterte volunteer group Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating Committee (MRRD-NECC) Central Luzon Chapter has announced and stands firm on their declaration to support the presidential candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte Agila Central Luzon Chapter, which counts about 28,000 members, switched support from Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso to Robredo.

MRRD Agila Region 3 Bulacan Chapter head Rolando Torres explained the collective decision to move to VP Leni was made after consultations with their leaders and members, and to which they unanimously agreed that Robredo is the most competent candidate to lead the country with an unblemished and excellent track record during her public service stint.

When asked about their chosen candidate for Vice President, Torres said their group is still open and will exercise their freedom of choice.

MRRD Agila Bulacan Chapter Director Sophie Macmod shared that at a young age, she went through a lot of fear during the Martial Law era. The military pursued her family on the assumption that her relatives were rebels.

She continued that she did not want to relive the dark experience of the Martial Law era and she believed in the bright future offered by VP Leni. Macmod ended her statement by saying that while the group has had many stop overs, this is their final destination. She and her group wholeheartedly support and will campaign for VP Leni.

MRRD Agila Valenzuela Chapter head Alejandro Cabasag said they are not looking at colors and nobody said to go for red. He is encouraging more chapters to come out and support VP Leni.

Former MMDA General Manager Tim Orbos, former DENR Assistant Secretary Rommel Abesamis, and IMk Leni Convenor Elmer Argaño welcomed the group and their decision to unify and campaign for VP Leni’s presidential bid.

Orbos thanked the group and welcomed their decision, and said he recognizes the importance of all help, with very little time left, especially Bulacan and Central Luzon, in VP Leni’s campaign.
