Cabuyao stakes claim as Laguna’s ‘Enterprising City of the South’

CABUYAO CITY, Laguna — Cabuyao Mayor Mel Gecolea led city officials in the first community Walk for the Enterprising Cabuyao 1, from 12 hectares of land owned by the local government built by another branch of the Cabuyao government, on March 5, 2021.
The Enterprise Park community walk was held at the site where various establishments, including educational institutions, regional and local government offices, sports facilities, command center, mega food park, a bike lane, and an IT Zone are located.


In a speech, Mayor Gecolea said: “It is our dream in our city to build profitable establishments with the goal of creating more job opportunities for our countrymen.”
“Part of this is the soft-opening of the first public Badminton Center and Aquatic Center in our city.”
The walk also showcased the various establishments that will be built here, such as the Command Center, City Oval, PAGCOR Multi-Purpose Evacuation Center, Material Recovery and Technology, CABS Clubhouse, CIDA Building, and City Hall.


According to Mayor Gecolea, Cabuyao as the best local university with the most scholars as it reaches a population of 10,000. The city also boasts of two of the largest hospitals in Laguna, and “we aim it for level two compared to other cities,” the mayor added.
This program is part of the local government fund with the unity and integration of the Vice Mayor’s Office led by Vice Mayor Lief Opeña and the City Council.
Cabuyao has several sources of funding because it is a component of the Calabarzon industrial zone.
