Children were overjoyed as SM City Marilao played the role of Santa Claus to bring Christmas cheers and happiness with the less fortunate children through the “ChriSMiles” project.

For this year, SM City Marilao decided to up the ante by making Christmas cheers extra special with two orphanage beneficiaries, loads of new toys and lots of surprises geared to make every child happy.

‘Our ChriSMiles for this year will benefit two orphanages in the province,” says SM Human Resources manager Prescila Salamat.

Salamat stated that Tahanang Mapagpala ni Madre Rita in Guiguinto and Lingap Bata in Sta. Maria are the chosen beneficiaries for this year’s ChriSMiles.

Tahanang Mapagpala ni Madre Rita in Guiguinto, Bulacan this morning was instantly filled with joy as volunteers from the mall gave love and heartwarming surprises. Children here were delighted as they indulged in hearty meal, fun games as well as entertainment from SM Volunteer Employees.

“We, at SM, take pride in going out of our way to put a smile on children’s faces” says SM assistant vice president for Operations Ana Datu. She added that the heart of SM ChriSMiles program is sharing, giving and being a blessing to others.

SM City Marilao ChriSMiles was made possible through the initiative of the mall and its employees. Each SM employees donated and contributed on the mall initiated project, “Bazaar for a Cause” to raise substantial amount of money for the Christmas cheers of the less fortunate children.

Proceeds raised help in the many volunteerism projects spearheaded by SM City Marilao. Last year’s Bazaar for a Cause benefitted the ChriSMiles project where it brought joy to hundreds of orphan children in Bethany House Sto. Niño Orphanage in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
