Malolos City—A new haven for bargain hunters for quality and affordable imported and local goods has opened its doors in Calumpit, Bulacan just in time for the Yuletide shopping and gift-giving for Christmas.

HMR Express Calumpit opened over the weekend to provide a clean ‘hunting ground’ for quality but less expensive commodities instead of wrestling with the crowds of shoppers in Divisoria or Greenhills and adding to the traffic nightmares in Metro Manila.

“HMR is not just an ordinary retail store of gadgets, household, office or just about anything but a mini-mall where you can get the best finds at the lowest prices, guaranteed,” the company said in a statement.

Guaranteeing that it sells the lowest priced item was an assurance made by no less than HMR Retail CEO Sharlene Carman. She assured buyers that if they can find the same item at a lower price in other stores, they will sell it at 10 percent lower.

Carman told Manila Standard that this lowest-price guarantee prevails for all the 28 HMR Trading Haus in the north (14 branches) and South Luzon including Metro Manila HMR Express stores. HMR-Calumpit is a franchise and the 29th store, owned by engineer-developer-businessman Eric Illescas.

Illescas also owns the franchise of Shakey’s and Hap Chan in Calumpit, Malolos, Pulilan and Baliuag, and was responsible for the booming fine-dining joints in Malolos City dubbed “Tikay Morato Strip” in Barangay Tikay, Malolos.

Ria Enriquez, HMR marketing manager, said aside from day-to-day smart gadgets, HMR Trading Haus also carries quality brand-new and surplus office/home furniture, appliances, sporting goods, clothes and industrial supplies and tools.

HMR north area manager Jun Reyes said the latest store, located at the Malolos-Calumpit boundary in Brgy. Pio Cruzcoza along McArthur Highway initially offers a wide array of novelty items and household goods carrying the brands Deli Chef, APTUS audio-visual equipment, LORO sporting goods, Schaffen power tools, carpentry and storage equipment and Leiya professional tools.

HMR Calumpit’s display also includes apparel made by Portwest and outdoor water adventures made by Aqua Marina.

Active for three decades now and patterned after its roots in Australia, HMR Philippines will continue to expand and carry more cutting-edge gadgets for individuals to ensure a value-for-money for every shopper.

Great deals are also available online from a trusted online surplus store, Enriquez said.

“Don’t miss out on HMR’s unique online shopping experience for anyone anywhere in the world. We make buying gifts so easy, all you have to do is click on an item on our HMR website, select a payment option and the greeting details. From there, we take care of the rest,” she said.
