Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—SN Aboitiz Power officials here recently handed P700,000 to provincial officials here as part of their yearly Corporate Social Responsibility assistance to the province.

The check was handed by Engr. Wilhelmino Ferrer, SNAP-Magat Assistant Vice President and Plant Manager, to Governor Carlos Padilla, who said the check will benefit schoolers of the Quezon National High School and beneficiaries of the Provincial Nutriton Program in the province.

“A portion of the fund amounting to P100,000 was used to purchase portable sewing machines to be used by the dressmaking schoolers of QNHS, while the P600,000 will be used to augment funds for the implementation of the nutrition programs and activities,” Padilla said.

He said the bigger fund allocation will be used for the implementation of the “Double Burden” Program, which seeks to lower the malnutrition problem among children and adults in the province.

“Double Burden” refers to overweight and underweight children and adults who are the focus of the regular “Hula Hoop” activities within schools and communities.
