As part of its “Alalay sa Barangay Program,” LARC’s yearly Brigada Eskwela activities include donation of paints for the beautification of schools and distribution of schools supplies and hygiene kits to students.

This year, a total of 1,980 schoolchildren benefitted from the paints, school supplies and hygiene kits distributed to public elementary schools in Los Baños, Bay, Calauan, parts of Victoria, and Nagcarlan, Laguna on May 22 to 24.

The activity was highlighted by a handwashing demo to educate students that regular handwashing reduce infections that may hinder them from being healthy and active in school.

The Brigada Eskwela week is an annual program spearheaded by the Department of Education that aims to bring together various stakeholders to work together and help public school teachers and parents to prepare school facilities in time for the school opening in June.
