Miner’s literacy program gains national award

Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya—A literacy program of FCF Minerals Corporation here recently bagged third place in this year’s National Literacy Awards.

The firm’s literacy program dubbed “Handog Aral sa Ikauunlad ng Buhay” received the award for outstanding literacy program during the National Literacy Conference and Awards in September in Baguio City.

The mining firm’s literacy program’s components include education, employment, livelihood, clean and green program and school of living traditions.

Ian Moller, Officer-In-Charge of FCF General Manager Operations, said the program proved to be effective in uplifting the lives of the beneficiaries from poverty.

“Our program has been awarded for the fourth time as outstanding literacy program in Cagayan Valley region and in the whole country,” he added.

The National Literacy Awards has been institutionalized by the Literacy Coordinating Council of the Department of Education in partnership with other national government agencies, among others.

FCF Minerals operates the gold-molybdenum project in barangay Runruno in this town.
