Kraft named new Laguna police director

Police Senior Supt. Kirby John B. Kraft has been named acting director of the Laguna Provincial Police Office, replacing Senior Supt. Dindo R. Reyes, who held the post as officer-in-charge for just 10 days.

Kraft’s appointment was formalized Monday in a ceremonial turnover of command witnessed by Police Deputy Director General Ramon C. Apolinario, Philippine National Police deputy chief for administration, and Calabarzon police regional director Chief Supt. Ma. O R. Aplasca at the Laguna police headquarters at Camp General Paciano Rizal in Sta. Cruz.

“I’m now the father of Laguna PNP and [police] leader of the number one province in the country, and I will serve as good as a leader of honor and dignity, to serve our people of Laguna,” Kraft said.

Reyes said despite his short stint, the Laguna PPO “accomplished remarkable positive results” in their anti-illegal drug, illegal gambling, illegal possession of firearms, and arrested wanted person operations.  He also mentioned that Laguna achieved three consecutive years as the best provincial police office in Calabarzon.

Kraft thanked PNP Director General Ronald Dela Rosa for his appointment along with Apolinario and Aplasca and vowed to continue the fight against illegal drugs and implement Project Tokhang and Oplan Double Barrel thoroughly.

Apolinario said the challenge now is to continue the achievements of the former Provincial Directors of Laguna for the past three years. He said he was is confident Laguna will be in good hands because “good followers like Kraft are good leaders also.”

“Let’s make the PNP proud and make the Laguna a safer place to live with in a drug-free province,” he added.
