BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—Former Overseas Foreign Workers and their relatives here have formed a cooperative to help displaced and repatriated colleagues in the country.
The Nueva Vizcaya OFW Credit Cooperative was formed due to the present situation of returning OFWs and the exodus of other OFWs from Kuwait.
Based in Barangay Vista Alegre here, the NVOFWCC was already formally accredited by the Cooperative Development Authority.
“We now have 200 applicants from our province alone, but we can expand our membership recruitment in the country,” said Cristina Gauan, interim chairman of the NVOFWCC Board of Directors.
She said the co-op’s programs and services will be formally launched on March 8 at the provincial capitol in this town to cater to the needs of repatriated, displaced and distressed OFWs and their families.
