BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—The province is expected to generate at least 1,000 bags of blood donated from various sectors this month.
Dr. Edwin Galapon, provincial health officer, said the blood is expected to be donated by Novo Vizcayanos on July 21 in a bloodletting activity at the Nueva Vizcaya Convention Center in observance of Blood Donation Month.
”Sixty percent of the generated blood will be distributed to the public hospitals in our province, while the remaining 40 percent will be stocked by the Philippine Red Cross for use of needed patients during accidents and confinement,” he said.
The activity is also a part of the implementation of the Nueva Vizcaya Blood Donation drive, Galapon said.
He added that organizations and agencies would receive financial incentives with the highest donation of blood during the activity.
“This proposal was already approved by Gov. Carlos Padilla and we are expecting many donors during the blood letting activity,” Galapon said.
