Pampanga hosts biz delegation of Taiwan

LUBAO, Pampanga—An 18-businessman delegation from the Republic of China or Taiwan visited Pampanga on Thursday to explore expansion and new investment programs in the booming province.

The delegation, composed of presidents, CEOs and company chairmen are interested in opportunities in agriculture, fisheries, construction, renewable energy, manufacturing, and other industries in the province.

Led by Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office Representative Dr. Gary Song-Huann Lin, the delegation vowed not only to expand but also to increase their investments in the province, not only for generating more jobs but also to give opportunities to those in need.

The delegation made their commitment during a meeting held at the Pradera Verde theme park here with provincial officials led by Governor Lilia Pineda and 2nd District Rep. Gloria Arroyo.

Lin said the delegation included Allan Lin, president of Taiwan Association Inc.; Willy Chua and Hazel De Las Alas of Teco Industrial Park; Feng-in Hong of Formosa Heavy Industries Corp.; C.T Wong of Highlander Orchids; Billy Huang of Fil-Chin Love and Cares Foundation; Tayson Hsieh of Atlas Nutrition; Johnny Lu of Green Era Biotech Corp.; Jack Lin of Grobest Feeds Philippines; Bernardo Angeles and Kelly Huang of Lung Yue Construction; and Harrison Lan, director of Taiwan Trade Center.

Lin said the businessmen are interested in investing and expanding in Pampanga because of its strategic location and the presence of air and sea transport terminals, which are vital in doing global business.

“Pampanga is not only blessed with geography as center of Central Luzon but with presence of Clark International Airport, Subic seaport and expressways, plus talented and hardworking human resources,” Lin said.

According to Lin, 3,000 Pampanga natives are now working in Taiwan.

To better improve the skills of local workers, Lin said they are planning to put up free digital education courses.

The Pampanga officials thanked the delegation for adding the province as a “priority site” of their expansion and new investment plans.

Arroyo said good business starts with good relationships, and that connection will definitely enhance and improve the connectivity between Pampanga and Taiwan, not only in business aspect but in other future endeavors.
