CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna—The Calabarzon Regional Police Office is sending 241 policemen from its various branches to Marawi City to augment the government forces there, Regional Director Chief Supt. Ma. O Ranada Aplasca said.

“I want you to hold the banner of Calabarzon high. We have to defend our country, we have our sworn duty that we took when we joined this noble profession,” Aplasca said during the sendoff ceremony for the troops to Marawi on Monday here.

“The mission will not be easy, but it is not impossible. We should be ready anytime our services are needed anywhere in the Philippines,” he added.

The first batch of 70 policemen from the Regional Police Security Brigade will leave Wednesday, while the others will be deployed to replace the government troops as ordered by their commanding officers in the battle-torn city besieged by the terrorist Maute group since last May 23, Aplasca said.
