Vizcaya towns end boundary dispute

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—Two towns here recently resolved their boundary dispute in a bid to develop their economic alliance on tourism and agricultural development.

Provincial Board Member Roland Carub said the provincial government has already resolved the dispute between Solano and Ambaguio towns, particularly between the latter’s Barangay Dulli and Barangay Comonal of the former.

“We are very thankful for the generosity of the local government unit of Ambaguio after they heeded our appeal to give us a huge portion of the area within our boundary dispute zone. This will pave the way for upcoming developments between our municipalities,” Carub said.

Carub said with the dispute resolved, Solano town’s land area—now at 10,135 hectares—is now enough in its bid for cityhood status.

He said the resolution will bring in further development and economic benefits between the two towns through their inter-tourism alliance.

Upland Ambaguio town serves as an alternate entry point to Mt. Pulag National Park in Benguet province—a mountaineers’ attraction and adventure interest.

The premier commercial town of Solano, meanwhile, serves as the resting place and nightlife hub for local and foreign tourists.
