Bayombong bans noisy mufflers

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—The municipal government has approved an ordinance prohibiting the use of noisy and modified mufflers on the motorcycles of residents here.

Mayor Ralph Lantion said Ordinance No. 2017-002 imposes strict penalties for violators within the town.

“We are giving friendly advice to our villagers to refrain from using noisy and modified motorcycle and tricycle mufflers and replace them with ordinary form to avoid being penalized. Please follow and comply with this ordinance,” he said.

Based on the Anti-Noisy Muffler and Anti-Noise Pollution Laws, the ordinance was crafted due to mounting complaints among majority of their residents, Lantion said.
