LUNA, Apayao—A consultative meeting dubbed “Pulong-Pulong Para sa Kalikasan” (A Discussion for the Environment) was held at the Apayao Eco-Tourism and Sports Complex here following the reassignment of the provincial environment officer to the regional office.
The recent changes in personnel in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Cordillera Administrative Region included the reassignment of Apayao PENR Officer Moises Butic to the DENR-CAR office.
Gov. Elilas Bulut Jr. and Rep. Eleanor Bulut-Begtang attended the meeting with other provincial officials, mayors and heads of national line agencies in the province. It aimed to generate first-hand accounts from executives and concerned officials regarding the present status of Apayao’s environment, and to devise plans how to address pressing issues that beset the province.
New OIC PENR Officer Dr. Candido Tuscano, who assumed office on March 1, was formally installed after the issuance of Special Order dated Feb. 27 by DENR OIC Undersecretary for Field Operations Philip Camara, completing the total revamp of top environment positions in CAR.
