CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna—A member of the Phillippine Army’s Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit was killed after a fellow Cafgu reservist shot him in Pangil, Laguna on Wednesday.
Laguna Police Provincial Director Sr. Supt. Joel Pernito identified the victim as Gerald Relevante.
Relevante and the other reservist, identified as Eduardo Galay, were watching television at the mess hall at Galalan Patrol Base Cafgu Detachment at Barangay Galalan when they had an argument.
Relevante then got his M14 rifle and confronted Galay, who shot the former three times in the stomach. Relevante was rushed to General Cailles Hospital by fellow soldiers, but was declared dead on arrival.
Galay voluntarily surrendered and is now under investigation.
