The city government of Manila launched on Saturday its first citywide clean-up and declogging drive while allowing residents to track developments online.
The campaign responds to growing public frustration over uncollected garbage, clogged drainage systems, and heavy flooding in recent weeks.
Under Executive Order No. 3, signed by Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso earlier this week, all 896 barangays are mandated to observe Saturday as a regular clean-up and declogging day.
Residents can monitor the city government’s efforts through the hashtags #LinisKoMaynila and #MakeManilaCleanAgain on social media.
Barangay workers, city personnel, and residents have been posting photos of cleared canals and cleaned sidewalks as part of the collective effort.
Officials said the campaign aims to end the garbage crisis and restore sanitation across Manila’s communities.
