LinK4All project aims to curb road crash deaths in Western Visayas

ILOILO CITY – A multi-agency initiative has been launched to make roads in Western Visayas safer by harnessing the power of data for smarter transport planning and investment.

The Ligtas na Kalsada for All (LinK4All) Project officially kicked off with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among key regional agencies including the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev VI), Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development, DILG Region 6, Iloilo Business Club, Inc., and the Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety.

Anchored on RDC VI Resolution No. 08, s. 2025, the LinK4All project aims to reduce road crash fatalities in Western Visayas by implementing data-driven planning, investment programming, monitoring, and evaluation. These efforts will pave the way for a more secure and resilient regional transport system.

The orientation for the project’s pilot implementation guidelines was held on May 14, led by DILG-Western Visayas Regional Director Juan Jovian Ingeniero, who chairs the Development Administration Committee (DAC) VI. The meeting also featured statements of commitment from DAC member agencies.

Under the resolution, a Special Planning Committee will be formed to craft the Western Visayas Road Safety Action Plan 2026–2028, setting the region’s roadmap for sustainable and safer mobility.

The LinK4All initiative marks a strategic shift in road safety—moving beyond enforcement and awareness, toward a systematic, evidence-based approach that targets root causes and tracks progress through measurable results.
