The Department of Agrarian Reform-Western Visayas (DAR-6) is set to implement farm-to-market roads (FMRs) and distribute farm machinery and equipment (FMEs) worth P250 million in 2024 for agrarian reform beneficiaries and communities.
According to DAR Western Visayas Director Leomides Villareal, P200 million has been allocated for FMR projects in various barangays to improve access and productivity in agrarian communities. Notable projects include:
• Barangay Magdungao, Passi City, Iloilo – 3 km at P40 million
• Barangay Bacuranan, Passi City, Iloilo – 1 km at P10 million
• Barangay Imbang Grande, Passi City, Iloilo – 1.5 km at P15 million
• Barangay Toyungan, Calinog, Iloilo – 2 km at P25 million
• Barangay Aliputos, Numancia, Aklan – 6.81 km at P12 million
• Barangay Pudiot, Tangalan, Aklan – 1 km at P10 million
• Barangay Sugnod, Malinao, Aklan – 1 km at P10 million
• Barangay Cabucangan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental – 1.1 km at P25 million
• Crossing Gusnit to Sitio Montelo, Negros Occidental – 4 km at P43 million
In addition to the FMRs, P50 million has been earmarked for agricultural equipment. The aid includes tractors, harvesters, and solar-powered machinery, aimed at empowering agrarian reform beneficiaries and farmers’ organizations to enhance agricultural productivity and efficiency.
