AT least 318 applicants were hired on the spot at the Kalayaan Job Fair organized by the Caloocan City government on June 12, at the SM Grand Central in conjunction with the celebration of the 126th Philippine Independence Day.
The event was put together through the collaboration of the city’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and more than 50 private companies who offered some 5,000 job openings to Caloocan residents.
City Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan congratulated the new-hires and urged his constituents to avail themselves of the job openings offered in succeeding job fairs to be conducted by the city government. Malapitan declared that job and livelihood security remain as top priorities of his administration in order to provide the best quality of life for the city.s residents.
