Cop, village councilor dead after 4 vehicle collision in Lucena City

Lucena City, Quezon— A biker police officer and a village councilor were killed after four vehicles collided in front of Shoprite Mega Warehouse, situated at Maharlika Highway, Barangay Kanlurang Mayao, on February 10, 2023.

Today, condolences poured in on social media for PSSg Rodante Larrosa Madurog, “Rider Twoeight Aphio,” 32, of Barangay Isabang Tayabas City, and Amelita Averion Alcala, 67, a village councilor and a broker.

PSMS Prime Chrysler Velarde, investigator-on-case revealed that around 5:00 p.m., PSsg Madurog was aboard his Honda Big Bike PNP motorcycle (File No. 1301-08976732) escorting an Isuzu PNP Patrol Car (CS no. DR314) driven by PSSg Denis Merca, 42.

Both of them were traversing the road going to Pagbilao to transport a Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) when upon reaching the said place, a tricycle Honda TMX Mv (File no. 045204) which was driven by Romeo Marasigan Reforsado, 46, with his female passenger Alcala going to Lucena City proper overtook another vehicle, which led to a collision with the PNP motorbike.

Both PSSg Madurog and Alcala fell on the road; the patrol car that is moving next to the motorbike allegedly ran over the lifeless body of Alcala, according to the initial report.

Due to the impact, the tricycle twirled and also bumped into a Honda City Sedan (DAH 875) which was driven by Rodeson Pagkaliwagan Esteban, 42 of Pagbilao Quezon.

PSSg Madurog was immediately brought to MMG Hospital, while Reforsado was brought to Quezon Medical Center Hospital for urgent medical attention, and the widow Alcala died on the spot.

The police also said that all vehicles involved incurred an undetermined amount of damages.
