Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan instructed the Caloocan Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) to distribute 5 kilos of rice to registered persons with disability (PWDs) in the city.

According to PDAO Officer-in-charge Maria Dainty Abelardo, the activity is aligned with Mayor Along’s directive to help vulnerable sectors amid the crisis.

To recall, the Caloocan City Social Welfare Development Department also distributed 5 kilos of rice to registered solo parents in Caloocan last July.

The City Mayor emphasized that these initiatives are part of Caloocan’s recovery program, focusing on economic relief, job opportunities and aid from the local government.

PWDs in Caloocan are entitled to at least twenty percent (20%) discount and exemption from the value-added tax (VAT) as mandated in R.A. 10754, on top of priority services from the city, including access to financial and medical assistance.
