Along Malapitan wins Caloocan; Valenzuela also names winners

Mayor-Elect Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan was formally proclaimed as the new mayor of Caloocan following his father’s proclamation as the winning District 1 Representative of the city, incumbent Mayor Oca Malapitan.

The Malapitans thanked the people of Caloocan for their support.

“My victory is the victory of every Batang Kankaloo. The campaign is over, the election is over, let’s start working for our countrymen. Now is the time for unity no matter what political color you are,” said the younger Malapitan.

Incumbent Karina Teh was also proclaimed as the new city vice mayor.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) also formally announced the winning officials of Valenzuela on Tuesday.

Deputy speaker Wes Gatchalian will be the next mayor of the city after getting 275,650 votes, replacing his brother Rex who was proclaimed the new District 1 representative with 141,794 votes.

Meanwhile, District 2 Representative Eric Martinez retained his seat with 132,241 votes, as did Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja with 257,530.

The elected councilors of District 1 are Marlon Alejandrino, Ramon Encarnacion, Ricarr Enriquez, Cris Feliciano, Bimbo dela Cruz, and Ghogo Lee.

On the other hand, the elected councilors of District 2 are Gerald Galang, Niña Lopez, Sel Sabino-Sy, Louie Nolasco, Mickey Pineda, and Chiqui Carreon.

Earlier, Navotas has already proclaimed their mayor as incumbent Cong. John Rey Tiangco following the proclamation of his older brother Mayor Toby Tiangco as city congressman.

In Malabon City, Vice Mayor Jeannie Sandoval has also been proclaimed as the new mayor while Representative Jaye Lacson-Noel was re-elected. Ninong Dela Cruz was proclaimed as vice mayor elect.
