Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso warned on Tuesday all funeral homes in Manila which refuse to accept or delay acceptance of remains or bodies coming from hospitals that he would have their business permits canceled.

The mayor issued the warning to all funeral service companies in Manila after receiving complaints.

"Nagnegosyo kayo, hanap-patay. May namatay, kunin n'yo. Bigyan n'yo ng maayos at disenteng serbisyo," he said.

Domagoso added that owners of these funeral homes must not use the coronavirus disease as a reason for refusing to accept the bodies coming from the different hospitals.

The mayor also strongly warned all businessmen who continue to commit abuses amid the crisis.

You will regret this. As long as I am the Mayor of the City of Manila, you will never be allowed to do business here again. Hindi ko kayo papayagang makapaghanap-buhay sa Maynila," he said.

Meanwhile, Domagoso has ordered a city-wide disinfecting operation on Tuesday morning.

The city government used powerful hoses to spray disinfectants several feet into the air, with the mist reaching vehicles and some buildings on the side of the road.

Fire trucks used in the operation were seen on streets such as Jose Abad Santos Avenue in Tondo, as well as in front of the Manila City Hall.

Metro Manila, along with the entire Luzon, is on its 2nd week of enhanced community quarantine set until April 13.

President Rodrigo Duterte has also placed the entire country under a state of calamity, allowing the government to tap more funds to contain the spread of the virus.
