The Bangsamoro Region has turned over emergency mobile facilities and a new building constructed to improve public health services in Basilan’s Lamitan District Hospital, officials said.

From the Ministry of Health of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-BARMM), the Lamitan District Hospital received two sea ambulances worth P 3 million each and a land ambulance worth P 2.5 million or a total of P 8.5 million.

BARMM Health Minister Dr. Bashary Latiph said the construction of the new hospital building in Lamitan City, Basilan is worth P 30 million funded with the Health Facility Enhancement Program (HFEP) of the national government.

HFE Program Funds financed the construction of the new building designed to accommodate a 25-bed capacity in two consecutive fiscal years: P 10 million in 2018 under the then ARMM and P 20 million in 2019 under BARMM.

On the other hand, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority’s (BTA) Transition Development Impact Fund (TDIF) supported the total P 8.5 million in aggregate costs of the land and sea ambulances.
