Santiago City cops nab 6 in illegal drug buy-busts

Santiago City—The Police Office here, in coordination with agents of the city's drug enforcement unit and the region's drug enforcement authority, arrested recently seven drug personalities in separate buy-bust operations.

Cases of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act against the seven have been referred to the city prosecutor's office for investigation.

Officials identified those arrested as Edison Mangoba Sarmiento on July 6, 2020 along National Highway, Batal, Santiago City for selling one piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be a dangerous drug in consideration of P1,000.00 buy-bust money.

The suspect was previously arrested and charged with the same offense in September 2018 wherein, he availed himself with Plea Bargaining Agreement on June 18, 2019 and was released from detention cell in November 2019.

Others arrested on the same date in another area were Jimmy Buduan Salatan for Violation of RA 9165. The suspect was arrested for selling one piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be a dangerous drug in consideration for P1,000 buy-bust money.

The four others arrested were: Aurelio Abuan Gudoy, a Provincial Security Guard at the Provincial Capitol of Ilagan City and a resident of Mabini, Santiago City; Rodrigo Gonzales Baltazar Jr and Marry Ann Aiquep Yamomo, live-in partners for Violation of RA 9165; and Rommel Gardoce Dela Cruz who was peddling “shabu” within Santiago City.

An anti-illegal drug buy-bust operation was conducted that resulted in the arrest of the suspect for selling one (1) piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet.

The seventh nabbed by law enforcvement agents was Mark Joed Marayag Orig, arrested in Batal, Santiago City for selling one piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet suspected to be “shabu” in consideration of P500 buy-bust money.

The suspect was previously arrested for the same offense in 2018 and availed himself with a plea bargaining. Brenda Jocson
