Real estate website Lamudi opens today a property fair targeting the country’s affordable housing segment at the Glorietta 3 activity center in Makati City.

To run till tomorrow, the event will gather together property developers and sellers from all over the country to inspect the showcase of affordable properties on tap, and offer to as many Filipinos as possible  the right property that best fits their budget.

“Home-ownership is one common aspiration shared by all Filipinos, but due to the continuous growth of the industry and consequent increase in property prices, this dream is becoming elusive to many Filipinos, especially to those who do not know where to search,” said Bhavna Suresh Chathambeth, CEO of the Lamudi Group (Lamudi Philippines and MyProperty.ph).

Need for information. The  Lamudi  housing fair this weekend addresses the lack of information of what is readily available for the affordable market. At the press conference to launch the fair were Bhavna Suresh Chathambeth, CEO of the Lamudi Group and Gabriel D. Laurel, VP strategy and corporate development of Property Company of Friends, Inc.

“This slice of the market needs most attention not only from the government but from private players as well. That’s why we want to jump-start the work by organizing the very first affordable-focused housing event,” Suresh said..

Lamudi partnered with CNN Philippines to bring in knowledgeable people in the industry to discuss affordable housing. Lamudi also tapped investment professionals and real estate experts to talk about investing, hassle-free property purchase, and more in a series of free seminars during the event.

The country’s key shelter and social-insurance agencies—Pag-IBIG Fund and Social Security System (SSS)—will take part in the two-day event. SSS will talk today about investment in foreclosed properties,  and how SSS can help during an investment. Pag-IBIG Fund will conduct a home buying seminar tomorrow.

Freebies thrown into the mix

The event is free. Visitors can also get a chance at exclusive property discounts from real estate developers, and win freebies as well as exciting raffle items from the partners and exhibitors. Foreclosed properties auction and virtual reality in real estate will also available in the event.

The Lamudi fair is the second installment of its housing fair series that started November of 2016. The first edition was attended by more than 5,000 visitors. Guests are expected to double this year as the event will cater to the biggest chunk of the housing market.
