Megawide reaches out to Surigao

Megawide Foundation and the World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WFSP) recently conducted a 3-day surgical mission, providing free major and minor surgeries at the Surigao Del Norte provincial and district hospitals.

The surgical mission team, headed by Sheila Lynn Nawata and Dr. Marcus Lester Suntay,  arrive at Siargao, Surigao del Norte.
Over 200 patients were given free surgical treatments with an economic value of close to five million pesos at the mission, which was held in partneship with Sun Life Foundation.

The project makes high-cost surgeries and state-of-the-art medical equipment available to indigent patients.

The Surigao Del Norte mission helped a total of 145 Surigaonons, with 14 pediatric and 44 adult major surgeries; 69 treated minor cases; as well as a number of fine needle aspiration biopsies and hispathologies.
