Agricultural organizations earlier appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte to issue an executive order suspending the excise tax on petroleum products for one year as continuous spikes in oil prices have impacted rice, corn, and vegetable farmers, hog raisers, chicken growers, and fishermen.
