The Alsons Power Group’s 210-megawatt Sarangani Energy Corp. baseload coal-fired power plant in Maasim, Sarangani Province recently turned over a share of the power facility’s earnings to the municipality. In a ceremony at the SEC plant site, Alsons Consolidated Resources, Inc. Director Nicasio I. Alcantara (7th from right) handed over a ceremonial check for P8.57 million to Maasim Mayor Zyrex Pacquiao (8th from left), representing the host municipality’s share of the power plant’s earnings for the third quarter of 2019. Joining them were Alsons Power Group Vice President for Thermal Operation Jose Luis Angco and former Sarangani Governor and Alsons Aquaculture Corp. Chief Operations Officer Miguel A. Dominguez (6th and 5th from right, respectively), municipal councilors of Maasim, and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Sarangani. The SEC plant currently serves over six million power consumers in Sarangani Province, General Santos City, and other key areas of Mindanao.
