Support for football

Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian ‘Baste’ Duterte (center) was the special guest at the welcome dinner of the 1st Mindanao Cup held by the Football Associations in Mindanao and the Negros Occidental Football Association (Nofa) for over 200 boys ages 11 to 12 years old from 16 teams. Vice Mayor Duterte urged support for the ‘beautiful game’ which he said suits Filipinos. Nofa President Ricky Yanson paid tribute to the Mindanaoan athletes and football community who are ‘passionate about the sport in the midst of challenges.’  The Mindanao Cup is an extension of the highly successful Nofa Cup which seeks to develop and scout young footballers for possible inclusion in the national teams.
