Lukay

Vendors begin selling woven palm leaves or “lukay” along Magallanes and P. Lopez Streets near the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu ahead of Palm Sunday on March 29. The “lukay,” made from coconut leaves, is brought to church for blessing and symbolizes Jesus Christ’s entry into Jerusalem, an important Holy Week tradition in the Philippines.
