Angkas Motorcycle Taxi Driver Christopher Navarro Caba (pictured left, on motorbike) says his job is a big help for his family, helping him save a little and providing food on their table every day. His clients save 30 minutes of travel time, especially with the return of traffic nowadays, and some of them do not have to bring their cars to add to the road congestion. Caba says an ‘MC taxi’ helps solve multiple issues. It creates jobs, provides public convenience, eases traffic, and keeps both driver and rider safe from COVID-19. MC taxis so far are limited to Angkas, Joyride, and Move It. Grab was not included in the pilot project to gather data prior to the passage of the bill legalizing MC taxi services. Grab and Move It had a partnership in September allowing Move It drivers to serve Grab riders, but this was stopped by a government technical working group just days after it started serving the public.
