Philippine Ambassador to Spain Philippe Jones Lhuillier (right) assumes chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Committee in Madrid. The chairmanship was formally turned over to the ambassador during a ceremony held at the Philippine Embassy in Madrid. The turnover ceremony marks the start of the six-month chairmanship of the Philippines. Ambassador Lhuillier during his acceptance remarks expressed his goal of elevating the engagement between ASEAN and Spain through promoting greater awareness and cultural understanding of the ASEAN region among Spanish people.
