Veggies frost, Baguio chills

'Andap' or frost hits Atok, Benguet – a major producer of highland vegetables – for the second time this month but no damage to crops has been noted so far. The annual weather phenomenon brought on by the prevailing northeast monsoon is expected to last until March and farmers fear that a prolonged 'andap' will destroy their crops. Meanwhile, Baguio City has recorded its coldest temperature so far this year at 9.4 degrees Celsius at 5 a.m. on Jan. 31, 2021.
