Sharing the joy of giving: Gerry’s brings Christmas cheer to QC children

Embracing the true essence of Christmas, local restaurant Gerry’s held its annual Diwa ng “Pasko sa Puso ng Gerry’s” gift-giving activity and spread holiday cheer to over 150 kids in Quezon City.

Gerry’s pool of volunteer employees joined hands to create a memorable festive experience for the young hearts in the community of Barangay Bungad—where their office is located—and Roxas through a partnership with Santo Cristo de Bungad Parish and Holy Family Parish.

“More than just delivering presents to these kids, our goal is to share the true warmth of the holiday spirit,” Gerry’s vice president for HR and Administration Joanne Lopez shared in an exclusive interview with Manila Standard.

Local restaurant Gerry’s brings holiday cheer to over 150 children in Quezon City.

“We started with just 20 kids in 2017 in Santo Cristo—then it became 30 kids and now, 50. As our beneficiaries grow, we hope to give more children a memorable Christmas in the coming years.”

The event featured exciting games like stop dance, bring me, and hep-hep hooray. Prizes and loot bags containing school supplies and snacks were given to the kids and they were treated to a sumptuous meal from Gerry’s.

As the event concluded, the smiles and laughter of the young attendees highlighted the success of the company’s purposeful holiday tradition.

“Christmas is a season of giving and sharing. At Gerry’s, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve,” Lopez said.

“We’re always looking forward to hosting charity events such as this as it is part of our contribution to society,” she added.

The restaurant will also be hosting a Christmas party for 100 children in National Children’s Hospital Quezon City on December 14.
