The Board of Investments approved the application for registration of Grand City Hotels Inc. which is modernizing the New Dawn Pensionne House in Cagayan De Oro City.
The modernization project, with an investment cost of P36.89 million, qualified as a tourism project for complying with the requirements Republic Act No. 9593 or the Tourism Act of 2009 and Tourism Related Facilities of the 2022 Strategic Investment Priority Plan of RA 11534.
The facility will revitalize its features with efficient technologies that will reduce carbon footprints and is expected to start its operations by June this year. The renovated inn is a modern, comfortable, yet highly-affordable home that was conceptualized for the convenience, comfort and safety of guests from business executives to families and tourists.
“This project is a testament to what we are doing to make the Philippine economy modern and greener. I am optimistic about what else will come for the country this year and beyond, as we have already made inroads to attract more investments. We will make it happen in the Philippines,” Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said.
