The Department of Tourism said Monday it is positioning Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga and the New Clark City in Tarlac as premier tourist destinations to bolster government’s bid for quick recovery of the tourism industry.

It teamed up with the Tourism Promotions Board and the Subic-Clark Alliance for Development to promote Clark Freeport as a modern sustainable aerotropolis and preferred MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibits) destination and the New Clark City as an ideal destination for sports tourism in the Asia-Pacific region.

DOT Region 3 director Caroline Uy said during the first Central Luzon Tourism Investment Summit and Business Exchange at Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort the agency’s goal is to transform Clark Freeport Zone into a preferred business and tourism destination and enable investors to find long-term economic returns.

Clark is strategically located in Pampanga which major foreign tourist markets like China, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, South Korea and Japan have easy access to.
