Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. said Thursday it expects to complete the P1.1-billion road enhancement project at Manila-Cavite Expressway by the second quarter of 2019.
“We expect to complete this phase 1 by the end of this month or early September. We have positioned traffic marshals to guide and direct motorists as they accustom themselves to using this facility. Phase 2, which will involve the widening of the bridges along Cavitex, will commence in September,” Cavitex president Luigi Bautista said.
The company opened two of the four lanes of the southbound flyover of Cavitex on Wednesday.
The southbound flyover aims to improve traffic management at the intersection of Pacific Drive and Cavitex, which was managed via a stop and go signaling system before the flyover opened.
“This partial opening will help ease traffic while we continue with the rest of Phase 1 of the construction enhancement works,” Bautista said.
Public Work Secretary Mark Villar said the partial opening of the flyover improved the flow of traffic and passage of vehicles in Cavitex. “ Motorists will feel the full benefits of its ongoing enhancements once all of the lanes of this facility are opened and all the other enhancements are completed,” Villar said.
