State-run Philippine National Oil Co. asked the provincial board of Batangas to issue a certificate of no objection to its energy supply base port development project.
PNOC said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Batangas committee on housing and land utilization conducted a hearing on Sept. 21, 2021 on the company’s request for the ESB project, which would include the reclamation of 37,270 square meters along Batangas Bay.
ESB Manager Carlito Pena presented the project to the committee chaired by board member Jonas Patrick Gozos. The provincial board’s certificate of no objection is the last requirement of the Philippine Reclamation Authority. A certificate of no objection from Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas was already presented to PRA.
Aside from the continuous rehabilitation and repair of facilities of the ESB in Mabini, Batangas, PNOC said it programmed the development of the port to allow extension of the piers to reach the 12 to 15 meters depth of Batangas Bay.
