Kiangan Mini Hydro Corp. sought the approval of the Energy Regulatory Commission to develop a dedicated point-to-point facility to connect its P17.83-million hydro plant in Lagawe, Ifugao to the transmission network of National Grid Corp. of the Philippines.

“KHMC hereby seeks the Honorable Commission’s authorization to develop, own and operate a dedicated point-to-pint limited interconnection transmission facility, to connect the project to the grid,” KMHC said.

KMHC, wholly-owned by renewable energy firm Alternergy, plans to connect the P145.5-million transmission facility to the system of NGCP through a dedicated line consisting of a 69kV switchyard, 69 kV transmission line and 69kV switching station.

The company said the mini hydro project was expected to be completed, including testing and commissioning of the transmission facility, by 2022.
