Toyota Motors Philippines, Inc. debuted the all-new IS Lexus, the fourth generation Lexus sedan currently the most affordable vehicle in the Lexus line-up.
“The IS is our most attainable luxury compact sedan and this could be anybody’s first luxury vehicle,” said Toyota Philippines president Atsuhiro Okamoto in a virtual launch Saturday night.
He noted that the IS played an important role in Lexus history when it was first introduced in 1998 and considered as a “great driver’s car.”
In 2005, the second generation IS was introduced which elevated the performance level of the brand and following another seven years, the third generation IS was unveiled.
The third generation IS “redefined driving experience for which Lexus is known for,” Okamoto said. It is the first launch in all of the Asia-Pacific markets.
He said the all-new IS was the first Lexus sedan “born and bred at the Shimoyama Technical Center in Japan.”
