Linseed Field Power Corp. applied with the Department of Energy for a permit to construct, expand, rehabilitate and modify its integrated liquefied natural gas import terminal in Barangay Ilijan, Batangas City.

Rino Abad, director of the Oil Industry Management Bureau, confirmed that Linseed submitted its PCERM application on Friday. “Linseed’s application will still undergo evaluation,” Abad said.

The DOE also approved the transfer of the project application from Atlantic Gulf & Pacific Company of Manila Inc. to Linseed. AG&P will concentrate on being the project contractor.

Documents submitted to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources showed that Linseed’s LNG terminal project would cost about P14.6 billion and would be completed by June next year.

The proposed project is adjacent to the 1,200-megawatt Ilijan combined cycle power plant.
