More big corporations have extended support to the country’s campaign against the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

LT Group Inc. committed to provide ethyl alcohol, bottled water and face masks to frontline health workers leading the fight against COVID-19.  The group donated 400 4-liter bottles (1,600 liters) of ethyl alcohol as part of the total 20,000 liters it committed to deliver to the Department of Health for distribution to various government medical facilities.

It also turned over to DoH 70,000 bottles of Absolute 350ml and 3,000 6-liter bottles of distilled drinking water plus 2,000 pieces of N95 face masks.

The conglomerate is also preparing 20,000 4-liter bottles and 240,000 375ml bottles of ethyl alcohol plus 350,000 bottles of Absolute 350ml white label distilled water for its employees, local government units and other frontline agencies like the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the Villar Group donated a first batch of disinfecting apparatus to nine government hospitals in Metro Manila, 200,000 face masks and daily supply of bottled drinking water to the government through the Department of Health to help combat COVID-19.

“In response to the escalating number of Filipinos affected by COVID-19, we are doing our part to support the efforts of the government to stop the transmission of the coronavirus,” said Villar Group head Manuel Villar.

“The disinfecting apparatus will help ensure the safety of our government hospitals, the medical frontliners as well as everyone in the vicinity of the hospitals; likewise, the face masks and drinking water are much needed by the medical personnel, police officers, soldiers as well as personnel from DSWD and MMDA as they implement the enhanced community quarantine in the entire Luzon,” Villar said.

Leading food and beverage kiosk operator Fruitas Holdings Inc. committed to donate at least 1,000 bottles of 100-percent fresh buko juice every day to the frontliners in the fight against COVID-19.

“Frontliners, ranging from doctors and nurses working in the hospitals, to armed forces, police and guards, are risking themselves to protect Filipinos from COVID-19 and this is our own way of expressing our gratitude. We’ll try to do our best to continue this every day until the Philippines gets through the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also encouraging our customer base to contribute to this campaign – every act of generosity counts,” said Fruitas president and chief executive Lester Yu said. Jenniffer B. Austria

Meanwhile, Jollibee Foods Corp. is donating P100 million worth of food products from its brands to health workers and on-ground checkpoint personnel.

JFC, through the Jollibee Group Foundation’s FoodAID Program, has been closely coordinating with public and private organizations for an efficient distribution system of the food products to these frontliners.

“Our frontliners are our real modern-day heroes during this time of a pandemic, and it is unfortunate that many of them have little time to rest. The Jollibee Group is one with them in this fight and we hope that through our food, we can fuel their heroic efforts. We are more than grateful for what they are doing for our countrymen. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts,” said JFC CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong.

The frontliners will be receiving food packs from Jollibee, Chowking, Mang Inasal, Red Ribbon, Greenwich, Burger King, Panda Express and PHO24.
