Ex-ABS-CBN executive joins Udenna Group

A former executive of ABS-CBN Corp. has been appointed chief operating officer of the telecom, media and entertainment company of businessman Dennis Uy.

The Udenna Group said Donald Lim would join the company effective February 1, 2020 as the COO of DITO CME, and concurrently act as the chief innovation officer of the group.

Donald will be tasked to lead the communications, media and entertainment group of Udenna, which includes the soon-to-be-launched DITO Telecommunity and Udenna’s investments in the space of media and entertainment.

He is also expected to identify synergies and drive business innovation across the Udenna Group, which includes Phoenix Petroleum, Family Mart, Chelsea Logistics, Conti’s, Wendy's, Enderun College and Udenna Land.

With his wealth of experience and strong values, we are confident he will make an outstanding leader for our digital and innovation efforts, which are very critical in enabling us to improve the lives of our customers not just today, but in the future,” said Udenna Group chairman Dennis Uy.

Bringing with him more than 20 years of senior leadership experience from the media and advertising agency side, Lim will play the key role in shaping the group of companies under Udenna.

Lim joins the business from Dentsu Aegis Network, where he was the country chief executive officer for three years. He was the chief digital officer of ABS-CBN prior to joining Dentsu.

Lim is highly regarded in the industry as a pioneer in digital, having been the founding president of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines. He received several recognitions, including the Ten Outstanding Young Men in Community Building in Digital Media, the DMN 40 under 40 and the Agora Award.

He is a professor in digital and strategic management for several universities, which include De La Salle University, San Beda University and the University of Asia and the Pacific.
