Fastfood chain operator Jollibee Foods Corp. said Friday it plans to open more stores in mainland China after it inaugurated its 500th outlet in one of the world’s largest markets.

“This year, we will continue to open more stores in China as we see potential for more growth,” Jollibee group president and chief executive Ernesto Tanmantiong said in a statement.

Tanmantiong said all three brands—Tim Ho Wan, Yonghe King and Hong Zhuang Yuan—would open stores in new provinces and cities in China this year in line with the group’s vision of becoming one of the top 5 restaurant companies in the world.

Tim Ho Wan is a Michelin-starred restaurant, while Yonghe King is famous for its meal sets and soya milk and Hong Zhuang Yuan is best known for congee meals.

Jollibee recently opened a Yonghe King branch in Shanghai’s Putuo Rong Chuang Xiang Yi luxury estate area. The new store is near famous tourist attractions and iconic landmarks, particularly Changfeng Ocean World International Theme Park.

We look forward to serving our great-tasting food through more branches and to more people in Mainland China in the coming years,” said Jollibee China and Yonghe King president Louie Liu.
