Hilton, a leading global hospitality company, is bullish on the Philippine market with plans to expand its presence in the country.

Hilton vice president South East Asia operations Paul Hutton said in a press briefing  Wednesday during the opening of the 357-room Hilton Manila at the Resorts World Manila complex in Pasay City the group was scheduled to launch its third hotel brand in the Philippines in Clark, Pampanga next year.

Hutton said the government’s move to develop the country’s infrastructure would greatly benefit the local travel industry.

“With local government support for developing infrastructure including expanding the airport, cruise ports, building accommodation facilities, and aircraft acquisition, it spells good news for the travel industry,” Hutton said.

He said the opening of Hilton Manila marked a strategic milestone for Hilton.

“It speaks to the growth opportunities we see in the Philippines, and we are entering the city at a great time when we’re witnessing some of the strongest tourism growth, with an all-time high of foreign visitors into the Philippines in the first half of 2018. We look forward to enhancing the guest experience and playing an integral role in defining the hospitality landscape here in the Philippines,” Hutton said.

Resorts World Manila chief operating officer Stephen Reilly said Hilton Manila formed part of the phase 3 development of the integrated resort and gaming complex.

It is also the first of the three hotels that are slated to open under phase 3 development.

The two others are the Sheraton Hotel, which is scheduled to open before the end of 2018, and Okura Hotel, set for opening in the first quarter of 2019.

Once the three hotels become operational, Resorts World Manila will have a total of 3,500 hotel rooms across seven hotel brands.

Hilton Manila is highly accessible from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, with direct connections to Terminal 3 through the “Runway Manila” skybridge.

“Manila is a vibrant, dynamic city that, in recent years, has grown to become one of the leading destinations for travelers in the South East Asian region,” said Vera Manoukian, senior vice president and global head of Hilton Hotels & Resorts.

“With the debut of our Hilton Hotels & Resorts portfolio in Manila, we are uniquely positioned to provide the foundation for memorable and sustainable travel experiences for guests visiting this city. Whether they’re there for business or leisure, we continue to provide guests from the Philippines and around the world with opportunities to experience the exceptional service expected from Hilton hotels.”

Hilton Manila is the second hotel of the Hilton group in the Philippines. The first was Conrad Hotel, which opened in the Mall of Asia Complex in June 2015.
