Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc., the retail holding company of the Gokongwei Group, plans to spend P3.5 billion in 2018, up 13 percent from P3.1 billion last year, as it plans to roll out more stores and launch more retail formats.

RRHI president Robina Gokongwei-Pe said during the annual stockholders’ meeting the group would open 100 to 120 new stores across its retail brands this year.

RRHI will open 13 supermarkets, three department stores, 10 to 15 Do-It-Yourself stores, 20-30 convenience outlets, 30-35 specialty stores and 25-50 South Star Drug units.

It also plans to open 100 The Generics Pharmacy franchise stores this year.

Gokongwei-Pe said the same-store sales growth was expected to increase by 3 percent to 5 percent this year from a 2.7-percent expansion in 2017.
